Afrika in Focus: Australia Day, Why Australia is AN Apartheid state.

This week's edition of Afrika  in Focus highlights Australia as the country celebrates 'Australia day'.

We first give an historical overview of Australia and state that Australia is a Afrikan/Black country. We highlight the original people of Australia, the 'Aboriginal' people have lived in Australia for more than 60,000 years.

We  state how before the coming of the British/European, The Aboriginal people had a culture, tradition and a set of principles and guidelines under their Dreaming value system.

We then chart the beginning of the destruction of the Aboriginal people when the first British and we have to call them terrorists land in Botany Bay in 1788.

We state that how through a deliberate policy of genocide and extermination in an attempt to wipe out the Aboriginal people , a population of about 3 million before 1788 was reduced to about 500,000 in  1901 when Australia became the federated country it is today.

We also state how The British had a deliberate policy of 'whitening' Australia by having an  open door immigration policy to allow Europeans / white  people to 'settle' in Australia.

We then raise the stark inequalities and systemic oppression the Aboriginal people in Australia, their own country, suffer from.

We end by stating that Australia IS AN Apartheid STATE!!
