Show Notes

This week's edition of Ghana in Focus continues our Ghana heritage series month.

We look at Kumasi as a viable investment destination.

Kumasi or  Kumase is the second city of Ghana and is the capital of the Asante Region of Ghana,

Kumasi is a  5 and a half hour journey by road from the capital Accra and is also easily accessible by plane from the Kotoka International Airport in Accra , where there are daily flights.

The flight time from Accra to Kumasi is around 45 minutes.

We detail why you should consider Kumasi as a viable investment destination  - We cover such areas like:

The cost of living -  Kumasi is cheaper than Accra in terms of renting property, food, groceries, eating out, transportation etc.

Road network - Kumasi has a very good road network connecting it to the other regions of Ghana like the Northern and Central regions.  In addition to this Kumasi's road network  is being upgraded..

Property  - We explain the cost of decent modern type property in Kumasi is relatively cheaper compared to Accra and its environs making it appealing to be based in Kumasi as a business person,

Airport / Air links - We advise the new  international airport in Kumasi will be opened for full operations in May this year thus enabling travel straight from the Diaspora from places like London, Amsterdam, New York, Milan  to Kumasi thus opening up Kumasi to both business and tourist customers.

Retail - Kumasi has a vibrant mix of retail, from the hustle and bustle of the biggest outdoor market in West Afrika, Kejetia to the contemporary retail experience of the Kumasi City Mall.

Internet - Kumasi like the capital Accra  has very good internet connectivity that is good for conducting business transactions like Teams.

In closing Kumasi is a vibrant city and once the international airport begins operations in May,  will make it a very viable alternative to Accra as an investment opportunity that you should take advantage of!
